Club Rides will meet at Newmarket Leisure Centre from 8:45 for 9:00 departs on Saturday. Our intention is to run the usual Social, Club & Sporting Rides.
There is an additional ride this week, the Aldeburgh training ride. This is a longer ride of 70 miles and will be going at club ride pace. If you are going on this ride please make sure you have enough nutrition and hydration with you. There will be one or two stops on this ride.
The guidelines on official club group cycling are still in place and will now extend to the 19th July.
As you can see, the biggest single difference is obviously the amount of people who can ride togther. 15 is however a limit, not a target.
There are lots of posistive reasons for smaller groups, including the obvious one of less people togther = less risk or transmission.
Riding in smaller groups is actually easier for ride leaders and also if you are a 6 it means you can have a socially distanced coffee togther, as opposed to say a group of 10 or more having to split up.
Please continue to follow all other Government guidance and please do not attend any club event if you are showing any signs of infection.
As a reminder, informal group rides – such as groups of friends meeting to ride together – will continue to be subject to the Rule of Six at this time, along with all other general Government guidance on social distancing and interaction.
If you would like to help guide one of these rides please comment on our Facebook page. We look forward to seeing you all on Saturday.
Best wishes, NC&TC Committee
